Shell, a global petrochemical, and energy company, has operations in over 70 different countries and boasts a total workforce of over 86,000 employees. While the majority of Shell’s business is in the fossil fuel sector, they have an expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects being developed all over the world, including wind, solar and green hydrogen. Shell currently has 2.2 GW of offshore wind capacity under construction or currently operating, with another 9 GW of potential projects in development across several regions. Shell has targeted the Gippsland region for their first offshore wind project in Australia and has applied for an offshore feasibility licence in the region.
